How can I find out more about Zug Toastmasters first hand?
Come to one of the meetings as a guest to observe the meeting, take a small part if you
like, and meet some of the members. Guests are welcome to come visit up to three times
in order to make a good decision about joining.
-
Will I have to speak at a meeting if I am a guest or a new member?
No, it is up to each individual to know when they are ready to speak.
-
Can I use Toastmasters to improve my English?
Yes you can, but to join an English speaking club, you must be able to speak English at
at least proficient level. We are an English speaking club not an English teaching club.
-
How old do you have to be to join TM?
There is no age limit, but generally, it is a club for adults. Teenagers may join if they
feel comfortable in the club environment.
-
What requirements are there for joining?
Toastmasters clubs were founded to help people do something that they couldn't accomplish
on their own. That is to learn public speaking and communication as well as leadership
skills. Meetings provide a platform to practice these skills through the support from
the members with guidance and evaluation. Toastmasters International provides well structured
manuals and programs to follow. All that is required is a good knowledge of the English
language and a willingness to attend meetings in a positive friendly spirit to further
your own self-improvement and support of others.
